Our team’s consultation services are provided at no cost to families and hospital systems, and we always encourage reaching out to collaborate with our local prosthetics teams.
For our team to begin prosthetic treatment with a patient, we will need a prescription and up-to-date clinical notes for insurance authorization. Your local team will work with you to set up a process so patients can receive timely, high-quality prosthetic care.
How do your clinicians choose device design and components for my patients?
Our teams work closely with our referrals, families, and children’s therapy teams to understand their developmental milestones, functional abilities, and goals. We then design the device around those factors and goals, ensuring that the prosthesis is appropriate for the child’s age, activities, and stage of development.
For patients with specific activity needs, we work to ensure a child’s prosthetic treatment plan and device designs meet all of their activity needs. Our teams can work with you and your patients to provide activity-specific prostheses or interchangeable components to maximize function and meet every patients’ goals.
Do you provide patient education resources I can use in my clinic?
Our Family Resource Hub was designed with patients and families in mind. Our family resource hub focuses on patient stories, diagnosis-specific information, and education grounded in practical family experiences to provide families information to feel confident about their care. Please feel free to share this resource with families.
Our OPSB Clinical teams are also able to provide education, training, and in-services on pediatric prosthetics for medical teams, fellowship trainings, and schools.
Can an OPSB Prosthetist join my Limb Difference or Prosthetics clinic?
Our OPSB team has over 40 clinics in 17 states, and we’re still growing! If we have a prosthetics treatment team in your area, we would be happy to coordinate coming into your comprehensive limb difference clinic to streamline a patient’s collaborative care.
