At OP Specialty Bracing, outcomes aren’t assumed, they’re measured! Each patient’s progress is evaluated through comparative radiographic analysis: pre-brace, in-brace, and post-treatment. This consistent approach ensures transparency in both short-term correction and long-term success.
Most patients achieve higher in-brace correction with the Boston Brace 3D® compared to earlier designs, when following prescribed wear schedules. While complex curves are more challenging to correct fully, patients with lower Cobb angles often reach higher correction percentages.

There are many factors that contribute to successful bracing treatment age at onset, curve location and value, number of curves as well as the spine’s response to bracing and adherence to the wear schedule. Our bracing program can influence the spine’s response to brace and adherence to the program.
Research has shown that the percentage of in-brace correction (how much the curve is reduced when wearing the brace) is directly related to a successful outcome. The table above shows the percent correction for each type of idiopathic scoliotic curve seen in our OPSB clinics in 2024. The goal is to maximize the percentage of correction for each patient individually, without compromising the ability to adhere to the wearing schedule.

How quickly can patients be evaluated, fitted, and receive the product?
At most OP Specialty Bracing clinics, patients can be scheduled for evaluation within the same day or up to a week of referral. Following the evaluation, scoliosis braces are typically custom-fabricated and ready for fitting within 2–3 weeks. To streamline care and minimize wait times, the fitting appointment is scheduled before the patient leaves their initial evaluation—ensuring a smooth, timely, and coordinated treatment process.
What tools or support do you provide to improve patient adherence?
