Boston Orthotics & Prosthetics Now OP Specialty Bracing
We are excited to announce a significant milestone in our journey: Boston Orthotics & Prosthetics is rebranding as OP Specialty Bracing, a division of OrthoPediatrics!
This transition marks a new chapter in our commitment to providing exceptional care for children with orthotic and prosthetic needs. Since joining the OrthoPediatrics family in 2024, we have found a strong alignment in our shared mission: to improve the lives of children. Together, we have already helped over one million children, and we're more determined than ever to continue serving our patients and partners with the highest standard of care.
Why the Change?
This rebranding reflects our integration into the broader OrthoPediatrics (“OP”) organization, allowing us to leverage their leverage OP’s extensive resources and expertise to further enhance clinic services. OP was founded in 2006, is a leader in developing orthopedic medical devices exclusively for children. Their impressive portfolio addresses a wide range of pediatric orthopedic needs, from trauma and deformity, scoliosis, and sports medicine/other procedures.
OP has been strategically expanding its offerings in non-surgical intervention for pediatric orthopedics. OP first entered the non-operative space through the acquisition of MD Orthopaedics, Inc. (“MDO”) in 2022 and their bracing product lines and the patented Mitchell Ponseti® Ankle-Foot Orthosis (AFO) system for the treatment of clubfoot. They further expanded their portfolio by acquiring the assets of Rhino Pediatric Orthopedic Designs, Inc.,, known for their Rhino™ pediatric hip abduction “Kicker” & “Cruiser” braces, and have been developing novel technologies in specialty bracing.
The acquisition of Boston O&P in early 2024 was a natural fit, given our shared dedication to improving the lives of children with musculoskeletal conditions. Boston O&P, renowned for its expertise in scoliosis bracing and other pediatric orthotic and prosthetic solutions, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the OP family.
