As a clinician, I constantly strive to make a connection with my patients, to seek out that moment where I know I’ve made someone’s life just a little bit better. I enjoy using my knowledge and experience daily to problem solve and deliver an outstanding product which will produce a positive outcome. I want the patient to know and feel that I am on their side. Many times it means thinking ‘out of the box’ to develop solutions tailored to the individual patient so that I can help them achieve their goals.
During my third year in the Mechanical Engineering program at FIU, I discovered a passion for Prosthetics and Orthotics after attending an educational seminar that highlighted the field. I was drawn to the direct impact these products and services have on individuals' rehabilitation journeys. My residency primarily focused on pediatric neuromuscular patients, which led to a permanent position where I specialized in developing and designing lower extremity "tone reducing" orthoses and other custom pediatric devices. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work collaboratively in the field, both as a staff clinician and as the owner of my own O&P company for 15 years. I continue to enjoy clinical practice while also serving on the Board of the Florida Association of O&P, where I advocate for greater recognition and improved reimbursements for the profession.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, movies, music and spending time with my family. I reside in Miami with my wife and we have two wonderful children, I recently celebrated my 30th anniversary in O&P and look forward to my continued contributions.
