Philosophy

I believe orthotic and prosthetic care extends beyond providing devices—it’s about empowering individuals to lead full, active lives. My patient-centered philosophy emphasizes open communication, thorough assessments, and personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs. Committed to staying at the forefront of advancements in the field, I strive to deliver innovative and effective solutions. While experienced in treating various conditions, I have a particular focus on idiopathic scoliosis, offering comprehensive bracing solutions to halt curve progression, alleviate pain, and enhance overall well-being. I advocate for early intervention and consistent monitoring as essential components of successful scoliosis management, and I am dedicated to supporting my patients every step of the way.

Bio

I began my academic journey at the University of Washington in 1981, pursuing a degree in Kinesiology. Unfortunately, the program was dissolved in 1982 due to financial constraints and shifting academic priorities. This change led me to realize the close connections between kinesiology, physical therapy, health sciences, and exercise physiology. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for Orthotics and Prosthetics—a field where I could combine my interests in biomechanics and craftsmanship. What more could I ask for?

In 1991, I completed my Orthotic and Prosthetic Residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. I then moved to Colorado, working for a local facility until 2001, when I transitioned to commercial real estate for 11 years. However, I quickly realized that this career path lacked the personal and physical connections I craved. In 2012, I returned to my true calling in O&P, retaking the ABC Board Exams and joining P&O Group Pediatric Specialists, which was recently acquired by OrthoPediatrics Specialty Bracing.

I have developed a deep passion for creating orthoses, a process that reminds me of coaching gymnastics. Both involve starting at a baseline and, through time, effort, and collaboration, achieving something better than where we began.

This ideal work environment continues to bring both new and returning individuals and families to us. Together, we strive to improve their quality of life, making this work deeply rewarding. With the support of OrthoPediatrics, we are excited to enhance our ability to make meaningful, lasting improvements as a dedicated team.
