I am dedicated to actively listening to my patients and their families, aiming to empower them with essential information to collaborate with me on their orthotic/prosthetic journey. My goal is to ensure that patients and their families not only understand what the patient will receive but also grasp the reasons behind the specific design recommendations. It's important to me that they feel informed and involved in the decision-making process.
During my freshman year at the University of Delaware, I joined the Orthotics and Prosthetics club. During this time, I learned that the O&P field could allow me to use what I was learning as an undergraduate engineer to help people. I then joined the BADAR Lab as an undergraduate researcher and assisted on numerous studies involving AFO interventions. I quickly realized that I wanted to work more closely with patients directly and decided to pursue my Master of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics at Baylor College of Medicine. During my NCOPE residency, I spent time at 6 different clinics across the country. These 6 clinics saw a large pediatric population. As a Certified Prosthetist-Orthotist I have continued to be a consumer of research to ensure that I am providing my patients with the best care possible.
