The foundation of providing a patient with a well-fitting and functioning orthotic or prosthetic device is listening to their story and their goals.
My interest in prosthetics sparked while I was studying biomedical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where I was drawn to the blend of motion analysis, anatomy, and hands-on problem solving. I especially enjoy the design aspect of using CAD/CAM and 3D printing technology to create custom prosthetic and orthotic solutions tailored to each patient I work with. The most meaningful part of my work is supporting patients after amputation surgery – guiding them through recovery, designing and building their prosthesis, and helping them take their first steps.
